The NJCAA announced their selection of All Americans this week. Four players from the TCCAA were selected led by pitcher Alex Haynes of Walters State, who was selected to the first team. Teammate Bryce Hodge and Chattanooga's Noah Fitzgerald were named to the third team while Walters' Jerry Hammons was selected as an Honorable Mention.
Haynes was 9-2 this year for the Senators and was chosen as the TCCAA Pitcher of the Year. He had a 2.50 ERA with 6 complete games out of 16 starts. He struck out 114 batters in 82.2 innings pitched this season. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and signed with them this week.
Hodge was selected as the third team designated hitter. A freshman for the Senators, he had the highest batting average of the regular players wiht a .410 batting average. He had 16 doubles, 14 home runs, and 68 RBIs on the season.
Fitzgerald, a sophomore pitcher/infielder for the Tigers, was selected as a third team infielder. He was also selected as the TCCAA Player of the Year. He was the Tigers leading hitter with a .470 average that included 17 doubles, two triples, and six home runs. He also had 57 RBIS this season.
Hammons, a freshman infielder, was the Senators' second leading hitter with a .387 average. He had 20 doubles, 12 home runs, and 58 RBIs for the year.
All four were 1st team All TCCAA this past season.
