In the first week of conference play, two games came down to the wire with the contest pitting Motlow and Columbia ending up in a 99-95 shootout. Jackson split it's two games ove the weekend when they pull out a 63-62 thriller over Volunteer.
After the first weekend Motlow and Southwest Tennessee sit atop the standings with 2-0 records while Walters sits at 1-0. Besides the win against Columbia, the Bucks also took an 86-70 triumph over Jackson on Friday night. Southwest two wins came at home with a 87-76 win over Chattanooga on Friday followed by a 78-55 victory over Cleveland. Walters played their single game versus Roane and came away the 89-73 winners.
Chattanooga, Cleveland, Columbia, and Jackson split their weekend games. Chattanooga came away with a 88-67 win over Dyersburg while Cleveland also beat Dyersburg by a 87-66 final. Columbia got it's win over Volunteer by a 127-108 final. Jackson's win came in their thriller over Volunteer.
