MOTLOW STATE LOOKS TO STAY PERFECT IN CONFERENCE STANDINGS

Defending NJCAA Region VII Champions look to stay perfect in conference play as they host Volunteer State in Saturday action. 

The Bucks went 2-0 in the first weekend of play as they defeated both Jackson State and Columbia State.  Motlow is joined by Dyersburg State at the top with a 2-0 record as they defeated both Cleveland and Chattanooga during the first weekend.  Walters State is 1-0 after a victory over Roane State.  Chattanooga joins Southwest Tennessee, Columbia and Volunteer as teams with a 1-1 slate.  

George Stanberry of Volunteer State leads the confernce in scoring with 25.8 points per contest.  He is followed by DeMierre Black with 22.3 points per game.  Jaden Stanley-Williams of Columbia State leads with 9.3 rebounds per game followed by Myron McKinney of Dyersburg with 9.1 caroms a game.  AJ Morris of Chattanooga leads with 7.6 assists per game while TJ Sawyer of Jackson averages 6.6 a game.

Antwan Beans of Dyersburg, Gene Holmes of Columbia, and Sawyer lead in steals with 3.6, 3.2, and 3.0, respectively.  Jamel Cleveland and Jonathan Bolden lead in the block category with 16 and 14 blocks on the season.  Robert Atkins III of Dyersburg, Deontae Davis of Walters, Demont'a Wright of Cleveland, and Sawyer all have double digit blocks on the season.
