The TCCAA is proud to announce that two student athletes from the conference were rewarded for their achievements on the court as Miles Thomas and DeMierre Black were named NJCAA All Americans. Thomas, a Walters State sophomore, was named to the first team while Black, a Roane State sophomore, was named to the 2nd team.
Thomas averaged 21.4 points a contest for the Senators. He connected on 52.5% of his shots from the field which included 43.0% from behind the 3 point arc. He made good on 78.8% of his free throws and had five games where he scored over 30 points which included a career high 45 in a win over Cleveland State. In 31 games this season, he averaged 6.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists. For his career, he appeardd in 62 games with 61 starts and averaged 16.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists.
Black averaged 22 points a game for the Raiders. He made good on 46.8% of his shots from the field which included 40% from three point range. He connected on 84.6% of his free throws and had four games of 30 points or more this season. In 34 games, he averaged 5.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists a contest. He appeared in 64 games for the Raiders over two seasons, averaging 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists a contest.
