FORMER SENATOR BRAD HAWKINS TO LEAD WALTERS STATE GOLF

Walters State has named former Senator All American Brad Hawkins to lead their golf program.  He replaces Bill Gardner who retired after 48 years at the helm of the Senators national golf program.  Hawkins has served as the assistant golf coach for the past two seasons.

Hawkins was recruited out of Knox Central High School and became a two time 1st team All American for the Senators from 2013-2014.  He was also a Ping 1st team selection and a 2nd team selection in those two years.  He continued his collegiate career at Tusculum College where he was All Southern Athletic Conference in his first year, and the SAC Player of the Year in his second.  He was also a 1st team All Region pick as well as a 2nd team All American.  He was a GCAA All American Scholar both years in Greenville.

Upon graduation, he joined the PGA and still competes in 8-10 tournaments a year, but it was Garnder's invite to join him as his assistant which has changed his destiny and led him to coaching.
