The NJCAA announced the recipients of All-American honors this past week. The TCCAA is proud to announce that three young ladies were selected to the respective teams. Chattanooga's Kaleigh Wynne and Casey Gilbert of Walters were named to the 2nd team while Volunteer's Ma"Liya Stone was listed as a honorable selection.
Wynne, a sophomore pitcher and infielder, was named as pitcher on the 2nd team. This past season for the Lady Tigers, she appeared as pitcher in 31 games. She started 25 of those games with a 24-2 won/loss record with one save. She had a 1.48 ERA in 165 innings pitched. She recorded 207 strikeouts, allowing only 103 hits and 35 earned runs. She appeared in a total 61 games with a .478 batting average. She had 17 home runs with 75 RBIs. She also had 21 doubles, two triples, and 59 scored runs.
Gilbert, a sophomore pitcher/infielder, was selected as a 2nd team infielder. She finished the season for the Lady Senators with a .408 batting average with nine home runs and 40 RBIs. She also had 15 doubles, one triple, and 54 runs in 54 games. She made3 37 appearances as a pitcher. She started 28 games and finished with a 25-7 won/loss record with one save. She had a 2.52 ERA in 199 2/3 innings pitched. She had 135 strikeouts while allowing 182 hits and 72 earned runs.
Stone, a freshman outfielder, was selected as a honorable mention outfielder. She had a .429 batting average with 5 home runs, 27 RBIs and 59 stolen bases. She also had 7 doubles, four triples, and 61 runs scored for the Lasdy Pioneers.
