WALTERS AND MOTLOW SEE SEASON END IN LUBBOCK

The Lady Senators and the Lady Bucks had successful seasons come to an end at this year's national tournament in Lubbock, Texas.  Motlow, seeded 18th,  was defeated in the first round by 15 seed South Georgia Tech by a 64-56 final.  Walters was seeded 14th and defeated Tyler (TX) 71-63 in the first round, but their season came to an end in the next game versus the #3 seed Chipola (FL) by a 70-61 score.

Motlow struggled from the field as they shot only 39.3% from the field compared to South Georgia Tech's 51.0%.  Sara Vujacic was the only Lady Buck to reach double digits with 17 points.  Sydney Floyd was next with eight.  Tamiah Stanford had four assists and six rebounds to lead the squad in both categories.  Motlow finished with a 27-6 record for the season.

In Walters victory, Shaliaya Fluker led with a game high 33 points.  Gazmyne Herndon, Martoria Patton, and Dajah Montgomery each finished with ten points apiece.  Herndon and Kentoria Alexander led with six assists with Montgomery leading with three steals.  Patton led with 10 rebounds.  In their loss to Chipola, the Lady Senators fell behind by eight points in the first half.  The would cut the lead to four with a minute to play, but just came up short.  Patton led with 15 points while Herndon had 12 points and Brenda Fields had 10.  Alexander had four assists and Patton had 12 rebounds to lead the squad.  Walters saw their final record fall to 26-7 for the year.
