WALTERS' FLUKER, MOTLOW'S VUJACIC NAMED ALL AMERICANS

The National Junior College Athletic Association recently announced the All-American teams for the 2016-2017 season.  Walters State's Shaliaya Fluker (pictured) was named to the second team while Motlow State's Sara Vujacic was named to the third team.

Fluker, a 5'11" sophomore guard from Belleville, (IL), averaged 18.6 points per game this past season for the Lady Senators.  She also averaged 4.6 rebounds, 1 assists, and 1.4 steals a contest.  She connected on 42.4% of hers shots fromt he field (199 of 469) which included a 35.3% clip from three-point range (91 of 258).  She hit 78.1% of her free throws (125 of 160).  She was chosen the TCCAA Player of the Year by the league coaches.

Vujacic, a 5'10" freshman forward from Maribor (Slovenia), averaged 15.2 points a contest for the Lady Bucks.  She had 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game this season.  She hit 53.3% of her shots from the field (196 of 368), making 54 of 121 from three-point range (46.6%).  She hit 54 of 62 free throws for 87.1%.  She was voted the TCCAA Freshman of the Year by the league coaches.
