LaTANYA COLLINS NAMED HEAD COACH OF WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Motlow State recently hired LaTanya Collins as the Lady Bucks' new head coach, effective July 17th. Collins comes to Motlow after spending last season at Coppin State University in Baltimore (MD) of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.  

Prior to her time at Coppin State, she was an an assistant to the head coach and director of player development at Virginia Tech University for two years.  She was an assistant coach at Radord University during the 2009-2010 season.  

She has had two stints as a head coach at the collegiate level.  She was at Southern Vermont in 2005-2006 and St. Augustine University in 2006-2007. 

She has also served as a head coach at the high school level with stops at Saint Gertude High School in Richmond and Atlee High School in Hanover.  She began her coaching career at Charles City.  All of the postions were at Virginia high schools.

She recieved her bachelor's degree from her alma mater, Virginia State University.  She earned her master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania.
