Roughly after the first half of the season, Motlow State's women's soccer team is undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 slate. The have been victorious over the other three teams in the league, outscoring their opponents 10-1 in the three games with two shutouts. Southwest Tennessee is second at 3-1 while first year programs Columbia State and Dyersburg State are 1-2 and 0-3. Motlow currently stands 7-2-2 overall on the season, Southwest Tennessee is 5-6-1, Columbia State is 1-2 as they have lost scheduled games due to weather, and Dyersburg is 0-7.
Caitlan Dew of Southwest Tennessee leads the coference with 11 goals scored this season. Motlow's Emily Vallejo is second with 7, and teammate Tyler Feaster is third with 6 goals. Motlow's April Gillespie leads in assists with 6 while Southwest Tennessee's Thaina Apariceda de Paula is second with 5.
Taylor Savage of southwest lead with 91 saves on the year. Dyerburg's Lilyan Williams is second with 51 saves.
The TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Soccer Tournament will be held October 25 & 26 (Thursday & Friday) at Southwest Tennessee. It will be a single elimination tournament starting at 12 noon as the #1 Seed will play the #4 seed. At 3pm, the #2 & #3 seeds will play in the other semifinal. The championship game will be played on Friday at 1pm. All game times are Central Standard time.
