WALTERS CLAIMS GOLF DISTRICT CROWN; ROANE'S MEN, CLEVELAND'S HALL QUALIFIES

WALTERS STATE - NJCAA SOUTHEAST DISTRICT CHAMPS

The Walters State men's golf team won the NJCAA Division II Southeast District Tournament earlier this week to advance to the national tournament.  Roane State's men finished second and also qualifies to advance.  Clevelnd's Tripp Hall was the highest individual golfer and qualified as an individual in the tournament.  

The Senators won by 64 strokes over the Raiders as they posted a three round total of 304-287-287-878 (+14).  They had the three top individuals in the event as Blake Dawson was the medalist posting a 76-70-69-215 (-1).  He was followed by Greyson Smith at even par as he carded a 76-70-70-216.  Maddox Butler finished third as he had a 75-72-70-217 (+1) total.  Ayden Smith would finish in sixth place as he posted three rounds of 77-75-80-232 (+16).  Alex Gaetz would finish in ninth place as he would post a 77-79-78-234 (+18).

The Raiders finished at 78 over par for the tourney with rounds of 303-311-326-940.  Collin Keino was the top finisher for the Raiders as he finished fifth with a three round total of 74-77-79-230 (+14).  Jackson Hawkins would finish in 10th place with a 74-78-83-235 (+19).  Reggie Phelps finished in 12th place  with a 78-81-82-241 (+25).  He was followed by Lennon Hill who finished in 14th place a 83-77-82-242 (+26).  Anderon finished right behind in 15th place as he posted a three rounds of 77-79-87-243 (+27). 

Cleveland's Hall would post a 7 over par showing for fourth place in the tournament and top individual qualifier as he posted three rounds of 74-78-71-223.

The Cougars finished in fourth place as they posted an 80 over par with a three round score of 321-307-316-944.  Pellisippi State would finish fourth in the tournament with a three round total of 326-317-320-963 (+99).

All the qualifiers now advance to the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Championshp..  the event will be held at the Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana beginning on May 19th and continuing through May 22nd.
