ROANE WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES 12TH IN NATIONALS
The Roane State women's golf team finished 12th in the NJCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship this past week in Tuscaloosa (AL). Ranked 17th in the country going into the event, they finished higher than two teams that were higher in the rankings.
They were 306 over par for their four rounds. They got consistently better everyday as they went into the event with only four eligible players with the other teams consisting of five memmbers. They went out in the first round with a 372 (+86), and followed that with a 371 (+85) on the second day of competition. They made improvement on the thrid day as they lowered their team score to 364 (+78). They made the biggest jump in the final round as they shot a 345 (+57).
Sydney Romer and Raegan Corvette both finished in the top 40 in individual play. Romaer would finish in a tie for 29th place with a scorecard of 86-84-89-82-341 (+53). Corvette would finish in a tie for 34th place. She carded a 90-83-86-85-344 (+56) for her four rounds.
Reagan Bailey would finish in 67th place with four rounds of 98-103-87-93-381 (+93). Baye Dobbs would finish in 73rd place with a four day total of 100-103-104-85-392 (+104).
