The semifinals were played iday afternoon at Walters Statein the TCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Volleyball Tournament. Top seeded Cleveland State advanced to the championship with a 3-0 win over the host Walters State. In the second semifianl, third seeded Pellissippi won a 3-0 match over second seed Chattanooga State. The winners will face each other today at 1pm EST for championship. Both teams will now advance to the NJCAA Southeast District next week.
CLEVELAND 3 - WALTERS 0
It was a highly competitive match with several long rallies with Cleveland winning by scores of 25-20, 25-15, & 25-19.
Zowee Dillard led the Cougars with 16 kills as well as 12 digs. She was followed by Aaliyah Rodgers with 11 kills and 12 digs. Elanee Cotter finished with ten kills. Piper bowers led the team with 40 assists as well as adding 14 digs. Rodgers had three aces while Caroline Church had two for the match. Isabella Messer led the way with 23 digs while Megan Crocker had eleven.
Veda Barton led the Senators with 11 kills as well as collecting 13 digs. Madison Haynie had seven kills in the contest. Annah Cate Hyatt had 30 assists to lead the team. Mykanna McMahan had three service aces. Lilabeth Jordan led he team with 14 digs, and McMahan finshed with ten.
PELLISSIPPI 3 - CHATTANOOGA 0
Pellissippi never trailed in the match as they won by scores of 25-21, 25-22, & 25-14.
Pellissippi was led by Savanna Anderson with 11 kills. She was followed by Miley Presnell and Yevdokiya Glushchenko with eight, and Emma Kate Pierce with seven. Devynn Dunn led the way with 35 assists and ten digs. Glushchenko was next with nine while Addison Dietz and Grayson Jones each finished with six.
Quincie Hrinik led the Tigers with 16 kills. She was followed by Sydney Smith with nine and Ava Higgins with six on the day. Bailiegh Seale had 21 assists and Chloe Gibson finished with ten. Higgins led the team with nine digs and Seale was next with seven. Fehnly Sneed finished the match with six digs.
